Snow Days - Round #2

On Tuesday, school released an hour early, I gathered my things, bought some firewood, and headed home.  After a tasty dinner of leftover BBQ, I headed to small group.  When I left small group, the temparture had dropped but still no sign of any snow.  School had still not been called at that point, so I got everything ready to be at school for at least half a day (packing an overnight bag, just in case).  Thankfully, school was cancelled and I haven't left the house since Tuesday evening.  However, with Aaron out of town ALL week for training, I'm starting to get a little cabin fever.  School has been cancelled for Friday as well, but hopefully the roads will be cleared enough to get out and about tomorrow, most importantly to pick Aaron up from the airport.

WRAL News Station - they have been my companions through the entire Winter Storm.
This is a look at the roads around 1:00 yesterday.  Many people just abadoned their cars and started walking.

Check out all of the snow.

This is Stadium Drive at around 4:30 yesterday.  Completely covered and no one traveling anywhere.

Just to show you how much snow had actually fallen, my phone is inside my footprint.

Glad to enjoy the snow from inside  my warm home.

Thursday Morning, that is a solid sheet of ice in the parking lot, that gradually melted and turned to slush.

Gracie was experiencing a little cabin fever of her own and decided to come check out the snow as well.
She wasn't very impressed.

Ice that has fallen from the trees.

Gracie keeping warm.

Taking advantage of Aaron's LL Bean rain boots to keep my feet warm and dry.

Lots of snow falling at this point.  I took myself on an adventure and walked around our apartment complex.

Snow Days - Two Weeks Ago

January 28 - 31, 2014 - 4 days out of school, lots of cooking, warm fires, hot cups of coffee, hours of watching Downton Abbey, fun times sledding with friends, and a midnight snow stroll with Aaron.

We waited all day but we finally started seeing snow late into the evening.

This is a cool shot of our apartment via a reflection on my car.

We enjoyed some wonderful food and warm fire, as we prepared for Winter Storm #1.

At around 11:00 the snow really started coming down, so Aaron and I decided to take a stroll.
We ended up walking up the seminary.  On our way home, an hour later, you could barely make out our foot prints.

Wednesday Morning

Thankful for fun friends to spend the day with, sledding at the golf course.
